Frequently asked questions
BROKA is an intelligent commerce platform designed to connect buyers and sellers more directly, while giving them AI-assisted tools for discovery, negotiation and decision-making. We are building new commerce infrastructure — starting in Kenya.
BROKA includes marketplace functionality, but it is designed as something more comprehensive — a commerce platform with AI assistance, negotiation tools and trust infrastructure built in from the ground up. Think of it as the intelligence layer between buyers and sellers.
Zeno is BROKA's AI companion for commerce. Zeno is designed to understand what buyers are looking for, surface relevant opportunities, provide context during negotiations, and guide both parties toward better outcomes. Zeno is woven into the BROKA experience — not a chatbot bolted on after the fact.
BROKA is exploring ways for AI to assist the negotiation process — helping buyers frame requests, giving sellers useful context, and helping both sides move toward a fair agreement. Zeno is designed to assist, not replace, human judgment.
No. BROKA is not about eliminating brokers as people. It is about reducing unnecessary friction, opacity and markup that can emerge in intermediary-heavy markets. Where intermediaries add real value, that role remains useful. BROKA explores how technology can replicate the useful parts of that role at scale.
BROKA is based in Kenya. We are starting with Kenyan commerce as our initial focus, with the intention of expanding across East Africa and beyond.
BROKA is in active development. The platform is being built, tested and refined. If you are interested in following progress or being among the first users, get in touch through the contact page.
BROKA was founded by Xavier and Arnold Ochieng — two founders who observed the friction and opacity in informal commerce first-hand and believed that intelligent technology could fundamentally change how buyers and sellers interact.
Our long-term vision is to make intelligent commerce accessible to everyone — regardless of language, location or technical background. Starting in Kenya, we want to build commerce infrastructure that serves the way real people in Africa buy, sell and negotiate. From there, the ambition is global.
